Apple Pie Bliss Balls

Apple Pie Bliss Balls

Apple Pie Bliss Balls.

Not very often I get an idea and it just works first go. So I must say, I did surprise myself a little this morning when I whipped up these new Apple Pie Bliss Balls without any trial and error. I didn’t even have to go back to the pantry to find more ingredients.

Dried Apples.

Why Apple Pie Bliss Balls? Well Cole announced many, many weeks ago that he wanted dried apples. The next time Cody went shopping he brought back 4 bags…. since then the kids have probably eaten about 6 pieces of apple between them…. so we have lots of dried apple to eat.

Apple Pie For Breakfast!

These would be the perfect on the go breakfast. I used traditional rolled oats, walnuts, dried apple (of course) a small amount of maple syrup and some butter. I wouldn’t normally choose butter in a bliss ball, but I figured the Apple Pie Bliss Balls, and there’s lots of butter in the pastry. Oh and some cinnamon, because what’s apple pie without cinnamon?

Having a bit of a giggle to myself… I’ve eaten apple pie, but I have never made one. This is definitely a super quick way to get a sweet fix, without baking an apple pie! Honestly if you wanted to go all out, I’m sure they’d taste lovely with some vanilla ice cream too! But for the healthier than apple pie option, leave the ice cream in the freezer.

These Apple Pie Bliss Balls have all of the flavour without the cook time! They're absolutely delicious and perfect for on the go.

Murphy’s Law.

I only make 8 Apple Pie Bliss Balls first up. I’m starting to learn to start with less in case something doesn’t quite work. Murphy’s Law should suggest that’s why these ones came together so easily and were all gobbled up within half an hour. Cole loved them! He always has a bit of a soft spot for bliss balls. Norah took a bite and then danced around saying she loved it, but she didn’t eat a whole one, so I’ll have to wait and see what her actual verdict is.

Bringing it all together.

The dried apple doesn’t completely break down in the food processor. It gets chopped up into tiny little bits. So instead of rolling the Apple Pie Bliss Balls I pushed the mixture together with my finger tips instead. Using a tablespoon measure to get the mixture out, meant they were mostly shaped anyway.
