Ingredients

Bottom Layer

  • 200 g natural smooth peanut butter 95.2g of fat
  • 5 tbsp coconut oil 100g of fat
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste vanilla extract would work too
  • 6 tbsp cacao powder
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup

Top Layer

  • 200 g natural smooth peanut butter 95.2g of fat
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil 80g of fat
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste vanilla extract would work too
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Place the coconut oil and peanut butter for the top and bottom layers in to seperate microwave safe bowls.

  2. Place the bowls into the microwave for approximately 30 seconds each to melt the coconut oil.  Add the rest of the ingredients and mix to combine.

  3. Use a tablespoon measure and place 1 slightly heaped tablespoon of the bottom mixture into your moulds.  Tap the mould on the bench to flatten out the layer.

  4. Once you have used up all the chocolate, repeat the same steps with the peanut butter mixture, pouring on top of the bottom layer.

  5. Give the moulds one more tap and place in the freezer to set.  Eat straight from the freezer.

Recipe Notes

This made 16 peanut butter squares at approximately 23g of fat per serve.  The total fat content is approximately 370g of fat, so if you make smaller ones just divide 370 by the amount of squares you make.
